Welcome to Dame Ellen Pinsent School. 

I am honoured to be the Headteacher of such a welcoming school, that celebrates the individuality and differences of all. 

At Dame Ellen Pinsent School, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive community that fosters a sense of belonging for all children. Our intent is to empower every child, regardless of their individual needs, to develop essential life skills, social awareness, and active citizenship. We aim to build strong relationships with families and the wider community, recognising that collaboration is fundamental to our students’ success and well-being. 

Our curriculum is designed to be holistic, promoting independence, personal development and social skills. We advocate for respect, understanding, and empathy, enabling our students to be visible members of the local and wider community, embracing the rich opportunities and real-life experiences available. We also commit to providing opportunities for students to contribute to their community, thereby enhancing their self-esteem and preparing them for life after Dame Ellen. 

The environment is safe, supportive, caring and welcoming to all. 

I look forward to working closely with members of the school community, the local authority and outside agencies to realise our vision and ensure that every Dame Ellen child Shines like a star!
