PHSE
Our PHSE curriculum aims to support our children to be happy, safe, healthy, independent and to build strong, positive relationships.
In PHSE at Dame Ellen, we cover 5 main areas-
- Emotions, feelings and social skills
- Health and safety
- Independence and self help skills
- Community action
- Relationship and health education
Forest School also forms part of our PSHE and each class will experience outdoor learning in our wonderful grounds throughout the year in order to build confidence, team work, a love of nature, physical strength and well-being. We have 4 Level 3 qualified Forest School practitioners in school.
There are 'No Outsiders' in our school and everybody is different and unique! We teach the 'No Outsiders' curriculum through a range of story books, role-play, songs, assemblies and celebrations, alongside our school values.
Please find below the overviews for our four curriculum pathways. You will also find the statutory guidance for physical health, wellbeing and relationship education in Primary schools.
