Deer's

                                                    Welcome to Deer’s Class Page

We are a lower school class, following the Orchard curriculum pathway with seven children in the class. We will be focusing on the areas of Maths, English, Understanding of the World, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Expressive Arts. We will be doing lots of practical and sensory learning as well as using a TEACCH approach.

Our class teacher is Mrs MacLean who teaches us on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon. Aimee W teaches on a Friday morning. We also have three fantastic teaching assistants: Sofina, Linda and Nadra.

We have Jo Jingles on a Friday afternoon, where the children are learning to explore a number of percussion instruments and songs. The children really enjoy these sessions.

On Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons we have PE and soft play. Every day Deer’s class will do Attention Autism, Tac Pac, Theralympics and Communication sessions. We will also spend some time working on our EHCP targets.

We go to Forest  School on a Thursday afternoon. It is a bit muddy sometimes so we have to wear appropriate clothes and footwear that does not mind getting muddy.

We will share our daily activities regularly on Class Dojo, so please check this often! You can click the links on the left to see what we have been doing recently.

Deer’s have been working really hard and here are some photos of what we have been getting up to so far!
