Computing
Computing and new technologies are an important and valuable part of the Dame Ellen curriculum. All classes have access to iPads and interactive boards. Classes also have access to a specialised Computing Room with a green screen. 'Digital Leaders' are identified amongst pupils and act as instructors for members of staff and their peers to support with the use of iPads.
We have a wide range of computing resources for pupils to explore and engage with which includes programmable robots and drones; Lego WeDo 2.0; Skoog musical instruments; switch operated and remote control toys; and a green screen.
Computing Overview
The Computing Curriculum is designed to encourage independent use of technology; foster creativity; empower pupils through coding; and teach them to use technology safely and responsibly.
One big change to the curriculum this year is the greater focussed places on 'unplugged' activities to develop children's computational thinking and logical reasoning skills.
