Welcome to Bears Class
Welcome to Bears class! There are four members of staff in Bears.
Your teacher in class is Mrs McCluskey. I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday afternoon and Friday in class. On Wednesday and Thursday morning Amma teaches the children. He is one of our school Higher Level Teaching Assistants and has a passion for computing. His aim this year is to implement a paperless lesson by using only technology to support your child’s learning.
Dean and Melissa are our fantastic teaching assistants. Dean is one of the leads for Forest School and he will be focusing one afternoon a week on outdoor learning. Dean is also our Theralympics lead he will be organising activities to help your child improve their fine and gross motor skills. Melissa is our communication lead, she will be working with Julie our speech and language therapist to promote the use of language in the classroom. If your child is receiving support for their communication needs, Melissa will be spending time working on the targets set by Julie.
PE this term is on a Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. On a Tuesday we will be going into forest school. Please can your child come to school in their forest school clothes and put their wellies in a bag for them to change into. The clothes need to be practical and warm and items you are not worried about getting muddy.
On a Thursday can your child come into school in their PE kit, as we will be going outside as much as possible. They can wear trainers, tracksuit bottoms and a warm jumper, with a t shirt underneath. We will be learning to play golf. We usually go to a local golf club but because of the current restrictions, we will be teaching golf in school.
Presently we are working on settling in the children and getting them ready to learn. We are thinking about the routines that happen in school, doing a lot of PSHE, making and playing with our friends.
After half term we will post our timetable so that you can see what we will be doing each day.
We are using Dojo instead of home school books for communication, so please check it daily for any messages and stories.
