Welcome to Squirrels class page!

Welcome to Squirrels class. We are a class of 10 children and we follow the Seedlings pathway.

Ms Sherwin is our class teacher and our amazing teaching assistants are Gemma, Charlotte and Becky. Kirsty MacBeth teaches our class on a Monday and a Friday afternoon.

We will share what we have been up to on our class dojo page each day so please join us there.

Spring 1:

Our Spring 1 topic is 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. We will be reading and role playing the story and watching a pantomime in school! We will be exploring Jack and the Beanstalk themed sensory trays such as planting magic beans in soil and building junk models castles.

Autumn 2:

Our Autumn 2 topic is Winter Wonderland. We will be exploring with sensory snow and ice activities.

We will be designing, making and selling items for our Let's Connect event, a winter wonderland fair!

We have had lots of fun with our Winter Wonderland topic! We loved exploring lots of sensory trays, including ice, fake snow and hot chocolate. We had an amazing Winter Wonderland inflatables day. We enjoyed working as elves in Santa's workshop!

Autumn 1:

This half term we will spend the first 2 weeks getting to know each other and our new environment and making new friends and relationships. For the remainder of the half term our topic is Pottery and Sculpture. We will be having lots of fun with clay, play dough and lots of other sensory materials to explore! This topic will be linked to all areas of our curriculum. As part of this topic we will be reading 'Mud' and 'Play With Clay'.

We can't wait to share our amazing creations at our Let's Connect event at the end of this half (date to be confirmed).

We have had a busy half-term settling into our new class and getting to know each other.

We have loved reading 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear' for our Favourite Five book!

We have enjoyed sensory mark making in different materials during our Write Dance lessons!
