Welcome to Crickets class. We are a class of 10 children and we follow the Orchard pathway.

Miss Evans is our class teacher and our wonderful teaching assistants are Michelle, Madalina and Davinder. Andrina visits us on a Tuesday morning too!

Welcome back to Spring 1 everybody!

During the next half-term, we will be focusing on the story Jack and the Beanstalk. The Cricket's class team are all really excited and looking forward to exploring different aspects of this story. To introduce the topic, we are lucky to have M&M productions come to perform for the whole school. Crickets will then explore the different characters, the plot, the feelings of the characters and the different parts of the story. We will learn through sensory play, hands-on activities such as planting seeds and a lot of outdoor learning. Our individualised targets will run through all areas of the topic too.

Welcome back to Autumn 2! This half-term we will be focusing on the topic 'Winter Wonderland'. This is a DT topic which will allow us all to explore what it means to design, make and sell different products. As a class, we will explore different elements of winter and work together to create our own items to sell for the Christmas Market. As well as designing and creating different items for the market, we will have a focus story where we will explore different parts of winter and what these mean to us, ie, the temperature (cold, ice, melting frozen, snow), Christmas trees, Christmas traditions, Religious elements which link to Christmas too.

This half-term we will spend the first 2 weeks getting to know each other and our new environment and making new friends and relationships. For the remainder of the half-term our topic is ‘Pottery & Sculpture’. As a class, we will spend each week breaking down different ways of moulding, creating and printing the clay. We will have a different theme each week which will be updated on our Class Dojo page. Crickets are going to explore different textures, types of clay and other materials to ensure that they have a clearer understanding of the different key terms based around the Topic.
