New News Story

Children in Need

Wow! What a fantastic day and an amazing amount of money donated to Children in Need! We started the day with a fancy dress parade assembly.  The judges found it very hard to choose the winners but looked for the best festival fancy dress. Throughout the morning we visited Pudsey in the hall and filled him with our pennies and made flags, headbands and hats in the classroom ready for the festival in the afternoon. We started the festival at 1.15pm.  We danced to disco music, bought cakes, drinks, samosas and ice lollies from the stalls and waited for our special visitor Jo Jingles. We enjoyed dancing and singing along with Jo Jingles and some of us paid to play ‘Penalty Shoot Out’ with our football coach Amma in the goal. There was a crowd wanting to have our faces painted but we all waited patiently and came away looking like Spiderman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, pretty princesses or rainbows with glitter. It was a fantastic turnout from parents and the children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon despite the November cold winds.

Overall we raised a staggering £1180.05.  We would like to thank all of the parents who came to support the festival, collected sponsorship for the sponsored run/walk or jog and gave money to such a fantastic cause.
