Dame Ellen is Premiership Standard!

Opening of the MUGA

On Thursday 11th May, the children at Dame Ellen Pinsent School, Ardencote Road, put on an impressive display of their footballing talents whilst playing on their new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA).  The Astro based playing field is perfect for small sided games and also has basketball rings and a goal area at each end.  The space means that the children can take part in sport all through the year, regardless of the weather.  The special day was made even more exciting when Tony Pulis, West Brom Football Club Manager and his assistant David Kemp, came to cut the ribbon and pass on some sound advice.   He told the children “Sport is so important…and to have a MUGA at school is fantastic.  Make sure you use it and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of enjoyment from it.”  The children were delighted to see the ribbon being cut and enjoyed getting autographs and pictures.  It was a great way to open our new facility and for all pupils to experience the benefits of playing sport outdoors.
